Joy Navasie (1919-2012)
Famous for white slipped traditional Hopi ware.
Joy was daughter of Paqua Naha, the first Frogwoman. She popularized the white slip first developed by her mother, and became the most famous "Frogwoman," signing her work with her distinctive frog with stippled body and webbed toes. Joy made pottery for 60 years, from the mid 1930s to the mid 1990s.
